Found this in my inbox today and couldn’t help but think this is one of the many reasons why I love my native LA…

I think this calls for a late X-mas gift to myself perhaps…

Excited to try out my new Topshop booties! Very happy with the heel gold detail – spices up a simple, classic bootie.

I’m a little late on this post, (I blame the crazy world of business school for this), but in all sincerity, I was truly touched by the loss of Steve Jobs. The man is a true example of overcoming and succeeding in the face of adversity – From day one when he was put up for adoption, to dropping out of college because it was too expensive, to getting fired from his own company to being diagnosed with cancer, twice, the man never once gave up. And through it all, he managed to completely revolutionize our world view of technology, design and retail.

I attended Stanford University as an undergraduate, and was one of the very fortunate Class of 2005 graduates to attend his Commencement Speech. Below are some of my favorite quotes from that day:

You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.

Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle.

Wise words from a wise man. He will truly be missed.

Loving the looks in the latest Paul Smith collection. Talk about striking the perfect balance between monochromatic and color infused designs. LOVE.

Stumbled on to this McQueen cardholder the other day, it’s tiny but so kick ass!!
